CV Submission
Applications are reviewed holistically, factoring in both the resume and the reponses to the recruitment form to ensure a balanced evaluation of skills, experience, and potential fit.
Concept Note Submission
Shortlisted candidates are provided a concept note prompt, which is evaluated based on problem-solving ability, innovative and structured thinking, among other metrics.
Round 1 (Case Interview)
Team interaction
In the case interview, candidates tackle problem statements often found in our work. This is followed by a non-evaluative session with a GDi member to discuss tasks and clarify role questions.
Round 2 (CEO interview)
Led by our CEO, this interview assesses cultural fit, alignment with organizational values, and the candidate’s potential to thrive and contribute within a dynamic, fast-evolving environment.

What does daily life of a consultant at GDi look like?

Consultants engage with teams and stakeholders, analyse data, create strategies, and often visit field sites to gain insights.

What types of projects will I work on?

Projects span governance, development, and social impact across sectors like education, agriculture, and climate action.

How much client interaction can I expect?

Consultants at GDi are regularly in direct communication with clients, which include government bodies, NGOs, philanthropies, and private sector organisations. On a day-to-day basis, we work closely with government nodal officers and bureaucrats, and engage various other organisations in the ecosystem to build partnerships and collaborations. At GDi, we believe in training on the go, and hence ensure exposure to the highest level of stakeholder interface at all roles and levels of experience.

Is work remote, hybrid, or onsite?

Work is typically onsite at government or client offices based mainly in Delhi and project locations.

How long do assignments last?

Consultants usually spend 9-12 months on projects before rotating for broader exposure.

We foster an empathetic culture where members feel comfortable sharing their struggles and receive mentorship and support from their colleagues. GDi is also one of the few organisations to have a menstrual wellness policy, offering work from home to the menstruating members of the organisation to prioritise their physical comfort and rest. We also hold regular sessions and discussions on mental health, maintaining work-life balance with open room for communication.

Starting from an associate entering into the industry, the growth trajectory at GDi looks like: Associate Consultant > Senior Associate Consultant > Consultant > Senior Consultant > Manager > Senior Manager > Partner. The selection involves fiour rounds: application submission, concept note submission, case interview, team interaction, and final fit interview with the CEO.

Is there an ideal profile or skill set required?

GDi welcomes people from diverse backgrounds who are passionate about making an impact and eager to learn. While core problem-solving skills are assessed, education or prior career fields are not strict requirements.

What are the education and experience requirements?

Do you recruit for specific projects or locations?

No, GDi generally opens recruitment across roles. Based on your previous experience and application, you will be informed of the role suitable to you post your selection.

Do consultant get to choose which project/location they'd like to work on?

No, GDi does not hire for specific programs or locations, program allocation happens post joining based on vacancies and profile fit.

What is the compensation structure?

How soon will I hear back about my application?

You will be informed regarding the status of your application via email. We receive and processes a large number of applications throughout the year, hence it may take some time for you to receive a status update on your application, but please be patient and we will certainly get back to you.

Is prior government or consulting experience necessary?

Not mandatory, but familiarity helps; we provide support to bridge knowledge gaps.

What kind of training support is provided during onboarding?

What is the interview process like at GDi?
There are 2 rounds of interviews conducted as part of the selection process. The first is a case round, in which candidates answer a few questions based on a typical problem encountered in our work. For the candidates who are shortlisted for the next round, a team interaction round is held, post which the second interview is held with our Founder and CEO to assess the candidate's fit for the organisation.
